BIO

Emma Greenfield (a.k.a. Davies) grew up in the Lancashire countryside in a family of passionate musicians. At the age of 9 she fell in love with the cornet and began taking lessons. Soon after followed guitar, singing and music theory.

Her studies (German BA) took her to Berlin, where she met her future co-musicians and created new musical projects: OKO (Polyphonic vocal-pop), Traded Pilots (freak-folk) and Tralalka (Eastern European folk-polk).

For several years she also worked as a touring musician, first with the band Dear Reader and then with  Wallis Bird and Sam Vance-Law.

Berlin is where her work with children really developed and grew. During a period of nine years this spanned across teaching English in kindergartens and primary schools (kids age 3-7), teaching at and directing English language camps (age 9-15) and also teaching music classes in Kindergartens all over Berlin (age 1-6). Her passion for music and its power to move, inspire and communicate led her to develop the music and movement program ‘Sing-A-Song-Time‘ for children aged one to six with a focus on creating a fun and playful environment in which each child feels seen, heard and safe; a space in which young people can develop musical and social skills and express themselves creatively whilst exploring the world around them. For seven years she brought these classes to bilingual kindergartens all around Berlin.

Her rich teaching and performing experience along with being mother to two young children inform and inspire every piece of music and song that she creates.

Emma launched her kids’ music career on Youtube in the winter of 2022. In March her ‘Big Feelings‘ version of ‘If You’re Happy And You Know It‘ went viral, gathering over 160,000 views in over 100 countries. On July 15th her debut E.P. ‘Dance To Your Daddy‘ was released on all major streaming and download platforms.
